Formula's stop working

Ken Smith

Has anyone encountered Formula's that stop working in
Excel 2000? Recently I've had several users state that
all of a sudden, their formula's stop working. I
uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000 Pro on one users
PC then about a week later, it happened again. Any
thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ken,

Tools>Options>Calculation, check Automatic

This setting is taken from the first workbook opened, and then applies to
all open workbooks.

The most likely cause is that Tools>Options>Calculation "automatic" got
switched to "manual"

Excel takes the calculation mode of the first workbook opened in a session.

If that workbook was saved as "manual" calc, then subsequent workbooks opened
will be "manual" no matter which mode they were saved under.
