formulas stop working

I can enter data to existing worksheets and set formulas
to work and get the current answer, but changes to any
cell in a column are not recognized automatically. I need
to redo the formula to pick up the change.

I have powered down all pc's and the server, looked
around for windows updates that might pertain - still not
working.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Sounds like calculation is set to manual: Tools, Options, calculation.

I'm here to answer my own dumb question. After reading
through all 23 pages of posts to this newsgroup, I found
out how to fix this. Tools - Options - Calculation -
recheck auto! For some reason, two pc's on this network
had this checkbox changed to manual.
