Formulas which show as Text ? ? ?

Hi All


I have come across this a couple of times now, Sometimes A row or worksheet
will display Formulas as Text only (ie. '=A1+B1) Regardless of How I Format
the Cells, Take the ' out or insert a new row and try it agin . . .

Generally I have to Cut a section from a new workbook and paste over the
offending area to get it going again, But I was wondering is this just an
Application Glitch or is there some option I have accidentally turned on to
do this

Hi Dodge,

Probably the cells were formatted as text before you entered the formulas.
Formatting afterwards doesn't help immediately. But if you format as General
and then Find and Replace all "=" by "=", it should be allright.
Of course, if it's just a few cells, format as Genaral and re-enter the
formulas.
