I am trying to do a schedule for work. I use letters in
the schedule that equal a number of hours. For example
d=5hrs in am, D*=13.5 hours 5ato6:30p. Anyway is there a
way to add these letters so they will total at the bottom
of the page? Is there a formula to classify letters to
number of hours?

Thanks

Lisa,
Iw ould suggest you set up a table of the letter codes and the hours they represent. Then you could enter your code in one column, and use VLOOKUP to return the hours into the adjacent column. Then total on the second column.

See the Help file on the VLOOKUP function.

Good Luck,
