Will formulas carry over if a row is added or deleted?
Example: You want the sum of D2040, then a row is
added, which would actually make the last row D41, will
the formula accomodate that added row automatically or do
you have to go in and manually change the formula? The
same would be if you delete a row and it changes to D39,
does it change automatically or need to be done manually?

Hi Joyce,

D41: =SUM(D20:OFFSET(D41,-1,0)

this will survive inserting rows after D20 through
before row 41, and deleting any rows from 21 through 40.
