For years I have used =NOW() to show the current date in a cell and I've used =average() to average the quantities in a set of cells. With my new version, this is not working even when the help menu says to do it this way. Can you explain why the formulas are not working?

What does "not working" mean? Error message? What? Wrong result? What did you expect and why? What did you get instead? Formula
display instead of result? Format the cell as General and re-enter the formula. No recalculation? Check the recalculation mode.
