Version: 2008 How do I make the formulas in excel show up in the cell and not just the answer?

Excel > Preferences > (Authoring) View > (Window Options) check Show formulas > OK

or shortcut key toggle: control tilde (hold down the control key and press the tilde key near the top left corner of most keyboards)
