I know how to write formulas, but I was wondering how to convert the
answer from the formula into just the answer so I can cut and paste
just the answer.

Terry,

After you copy the cells and select the paste destination, go to the Edit
menu, choose Paste Special, and choose the Values option.

Either of two ways......

1. Select your range then r-click>copy. With range still selected
r-click>Paste Special>Values>OK.

You can now cut and paste the result.

2. Select your range and r-click>copy. Select top cell of new range and
r-click>Paste Special>Values>OK.

Now you can delete the original range.

Note: you cannot Cut>Paste Special so must be done in two steps.
