Forwarding E-Mails

Kath

Hi,

Since my original message and a response I received from
Adam Bailey are a few weeks old, I have copied and pasted
them below and started this new thread with a
"counter-response." My original message is labeled #1, and
Adam's is #2.

First, thanks, Adam. The method Adam led me to below
worked! I ran into two snags, however. I am hoping either
you, Adam, and/or someone else could offer some suggestions:

A. This is the more important of my two issues. I tried
this method with two different e-mails by sending them from
one of my e-mail addresses to another. When I received one
of the graphic-heavy e-mails I had forwarded as an
attachment, it was flawless upon opening it!

However, even though I tried sending the second
graphic-heavy e-mail as an attachment several times, when I
opened the attachment, instead of the logo appearing, there
was a box the size of the logo with a tiny box in the
center with a red "X" in it. I really need the logo to
appear when forwarding the e-mail attachment. Any
suggestions for getting the logo to appear?

B. This is a less important issue, but I'd love to resolve
it if I could. Even though the e-mails I have sent as
attachments have the original text formatting and graphics
upon opening them, the non-formatted text is still
appearing within the composition area of the new e-mail.
The non-formatted text isn't there when I send the e-mail,
but when the e-mail is received, it's there! Any
suggestions for avoiding having the non-formatted text appear?

I look forward to your response(s). Thanks!

You want to forward the message as an attachment. See
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/faqs.html#Anchor-135>.

Hi,

I am running Entourage on a beige Macintosh G3 using OS9. I
had received an e-mail that has graphics and formatted text
and believe that it may have been designed in a special
software application.

When I try to forward the e-mail, the graphics and text
formatting disappear! I tried changing some of my
preferences, but nothing resolved this issue. How could I
forward the e-mail and retain the graphics and text
formatting while doing so?

I look forward to your response. Thanks!

Entourage does not support rich HTML composition (specifically, tables, CSS,
DOM ...), but it will display such messages. If you want to forward these on
without losing formatting, you have two options:
1. Redirect the message. This doesn't allow you to add comments, though.
2. Create a new message and drag the HTML message onto it to send it as an
attachment.

This is a problem with the recipient's email program. It may be configured
not to display inline (remote) images. Or there could be a firewall or some
kind of Internet security software in the way.
