Forwarding HTML Email & Replying with Alias

I want to forward commercial html email that I have received (like from
software and other retailers) to a friend or associate and retain its
formatting. But in Entourage (only, it seems, Mail doesn't do it I
remember) when I hit FORWARD and the message pops up to allow me to put
in a note, it has changed everything to plain text, removed all photos
and graphics and sometimes even the background colour. I have my
preferences set to "reply in the format in which they were received"
and "include attachments to cc and bcc recipients"--as if that
matters--but it still does not do it.

Also, is there a way to reply FROM an email alias with Entourage? I
have several email addresses, eg. (e-mail address removed) that I get people
to mail TO me, but when I reply to them, entourage only shows
"(e-mail address removed)". I DO NOT want to have to use webmail from my
url host to do this because I don't have that kindof time. If that's
the only option, for now, until I can afford an assistant who can wade
through a web-based email, it will be the goofy reply I have. But I do
welcome any ideas, including using another manufacturer's software.

Lastly, why don't we Microsoft junkies DEMAND Entourage allow us a
bloody return receipt? HELLO Microsoft!!

Select a message, then go to Message>Forward as Attachment. That way, all
the original formatting will remain intact. When you simply use the
forwarding option, a new message will be created using Entourage's own HTML
Authoring engine, which, because of a couple of restrictions, will not be
able to format some parts of the message. (Thanks to Barry Wainwright for
the technical explanation.)

I'm not completely sure about this, but if I were you, I'd try to set up a
new account, using your alias as the e-mail address and the server settings
from your regular account. This might solve the problem; but of course, you
would have to select the appropriate account when you reply to someone.

This website <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/return_receipt.html>
offers a workaround. Try it; you should know though that not every e-mail
client can read the receipt request, so it might not work all the time.

You can actually probably leave the "Receiving mail" settings for the alias
accounts blank, since you won't want to check mail for aliases of an account
that you already check.

Thank you too Mickey. I said Michael is amazing because he also helped
me with a nasty Word formatting problem in another forum.

I'm just overwhelmed with the number of applications and
commands/menus/etc. I use WAY too many apps. regularly.

Use 'forward as attachment', and you r recipient will receive the mail
exactly as you received it. You can add your own comments in the enclosing
email.

To reply from an alias, you simply have to create another POP account using
the information for that alias, do not enter any 'receiving server'
information (POP mail server) and do not include the message in the 'send
and receive all' schedule. When you create a message you can now select this
account from a pop up menu that appears in the headers when you have more
than one account defined.

You can insert the 'return receipt' header into the account settings:

Open the account for editing (ToolsAccounts; then select the account &
click on Edit)

Under the 'Options' tab, second item down is 'Additional Headers'. In the
'Header' column enter "Disposition-Notification-To" (without the quotes);
and in the 'value' column enter your email address.

DNRs will now be sent out with every message from this account, but not all
mail clients & mail servers support these protocols, so results from the
world at large may be variable.

If you have only an occasional need to do this on a message by message
basis, duplicate your account and add the header to the new account only.
Make sure that this account is NOT included in any mail checking schedules,
but that mail from this account IS sent with every send. Now, to include the
return-receipt, simply change the account of a message to this ŒRR¹ account
with the pop-up menu that appears next to the 'from' header in a draft
message window when you have more than one account defined.
