I have a situation where I am linking to VFP 8 files (free
tables) from Access. I can establish the link fine from the
network server where the files reside with no problem using
the latest ODBC drivers, however I am having some severe
problems with Access falling into a 'not responding' state
when opening some of these tables after they are linked. The
tables range in size from 500k to around 36 megs. On
checking the TaskManager (Win XP Pro) on the lockup I have
found that Access has grown to over 260 Megs of RAM before
it died. The original Access DB is only about 5 Megs.
I can perform a manual import of the same files and Access
will behave perfectly and grows to no more than 35 Megs. Any
ideas what could be causing this behaviour?
