FP 2000 moved from Win98 to XP

I recently purchased a new PC with WIndows XP.

I installed all the updates for XP, then installed Office
incl FP 2000.

On the old PC, I published a web to flash removable media.
Put the media in the new PC. I can open the web from the
flash media just fine.

However, when I attempt to publish the web to a local web
folder, I get:

"An error occured accessing your Frontpage web files.
Authors- if authoring against a web server, please
contact the webmaster of this servers site. Webmasters -
please see the servers system log for more details"

I think this must have something to do with a difference
in how Win 98 handled publishing with Personal Web Server
and something new about XP, but I can't find this exact
scenario in the Knowledge Base.

Anyone have any ideas?

If the new PC has Windows XP Home, then you no longer have or can used a
PWS, you have work with a disk-based web or you have to upgrade to Windows
XP Pro.

To work with a disk-based web, create a folder on your HD, then open in FP,
FP will prompt you to let it make it a web, let it.

Next copy the web from the flash media to another folder on your HD, then
open the folder in FP, run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlink, then publish it to
the web you create in before.

Thanks. This worked like a charm. It seems 180 degrees opposite from the past of having to 'publish' the web to writable media when I moved a web from 98 to ME. Thanks!
