FP 2002 & Discussions

I used FP 2002 to build a discussion forum (mostly playing around) and so
far so good...EXCEPT...then I try to post an article, I am prompted for a
password.

On my WEB server, using IIS and FP Extensions 2002, I have my default
IUSER_WIN2KSERVER set to browse the site and only Administrators can Author
it. Having looked at all security settings, I feel sure I need to make some
minor modification to make this work, but I don't want to give everyone on
the planet access to Author the site.

Anythought?

PS: test yourself at http://www.crpoe.com/disc1_frm.htm

Thanks,

Cliff

Make sure the folder containing the page the "posts" are sent to / stored in has "server write"
permissions applied.

OK, talk to me like I know nothing :)

Am I doing this from FP or from the server? Am I using Windows security or
FP Extension?

I looked at the web folder and the directory where the results are stored.
the IUSR_WIN2KSERVER has read/write permission.

Ok. fixed my own problem. I have Windows 2000 Adv Server running IIS 5.0
and FP Extensions 2002.

I created a discussion but my users could not post to the discussion without
a password.

What I did was go to TOOLS, SERVER, PERMISSIONS and set the anonymous
browser to be a CONTRIBUTOR.

That allows them to browse and contribute to discussions.

Thanks.
