FP 2002 How about a quick image viewer?

Howdy All...

Does anyone know of a quick image viewer for FP2002 to aid in image file admin (lots of images with stupid # names to wade through).

Possibly as an Add-In? - as I have Photoshop registered as the image handling program for FP (in the Web Settings). I prefer to use PS to work on images but its a real pain to quick view images - for quick view I use photophila or Ulead viewers - so jumping back and forth between FP, PS and an outside quick view is awkward to say the least.

Any ideaz?

TIA

Try the free IrfanView. When viewing
images in a folder it has back and forward
arrows to go to the next image.
http://www.irfanview.com/

It's also a great image resizer / resampler.
( among other things )

Nifty. Odd thing is that I found an old copy from 2002 on my machine already...musta been playing with it back then.

I like it, it handles a zillion diff. file types.

But, I'm still working outside of FP sorta, if you know what I mean. Photoshop is still my registered image manipulator (if you will). Does it cause any havoc if you use an outside program to deal with images while they are 'inside' FP - that is to say not importing them in and out of FP. It seems that the programs registered with FP, in this case PS will create a temp file while working on the image, then I guess FP uses that temp to apply changes to the image in FP. If I use IRView (or any other outside image program) to apply changes or delete (not add) images will it cause goofyness (sorry for the technical term:)

R.

Yes if you have configured you image editor in FP you can open the images in the image editor from w/i FrontPage & when you save
(not save as) and close the editor FP will reimport the image and adjust any image parameters (if you changed image size) on all
pages using the image
You can also configure multiple image editors in FP
Tools Option Configure Editors and add them to the .jpg and .gif file types

If you use any image editors outside of FP, always use File Import in FP to bring the new/changed images into FP (or worse case use
Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks in FP to recognize any file changes in your web)

Cool. This was my concern, and I didn't want to try it without a guru's opinion first :)

THANKS.

yes...I know about the importing when using any image editor from with-out FP.
