We have a small website that was created several years ago with our copy of
FP 2002 on another computer on our network. I've reinstalled FP on my
computer and fully updated it but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking at
when I download the webpages and files from the web server on which they
reside across our ISP's cloud.
When I access the web server I put in our user name and password and it
shows me the folders and files for each page in a tree structure. I have
made all the corrections that we need to for now and they appear correctly on
my screen. When I'm observing them on my screen I THINK I'm looking at the
copy of the webpages cached on my computer but I can't find where they are on
my hard drive. They aren't in the Front Page folder under Program Files.
Are they residing on the web host's server?
Also, when I choose to publish the newly updated pages the ftp transfer ends
in a "550 Access is denied." message even after entering our user name and
password again. Our web host's tech people say they can upload to the server
but, of course, they're not on our network at the office.
Can anyone give me a little guidance here?
Thanks.
