FP 2003 & Web Hosts

I have upgraded to FP 2003 and my web hosting provider (Yahoo Web Hosting) is
no longer compatible. They don't support the FP 2003 server extensions.
Does anyone know a comparable (reputable, easy to use, inexpensive) web
hosting company that is compatible with FP 2003?

Thanks.

That's because there aren't any 2003 extensions.
FrontPage 2003 uses the 2002 server extensions.

Your web "should" run fine on Yahoo and the 2002 extensions.

Host My Site (www.hostmysite.com) supports them, and has reasonable prices
and super-duper support.

"HostMySite fully supports Microsoft FrontPage. Your control panel allows
you to easily reset your FrontPage extensions via a simple online interface.
If you need help using FrontPage you will be happy to know that your
HostMySite support staff is well versed in FrontPage and is happy to assist
you."

Pardon me, I'm a novice with regard to all the technical aspects....
I just know that once I upgraded to FP 2003, I could no longer publish my
site hosted by Yahoo. Yahoo support couldn't figure it out and its webite
even says that the server extensions used in FP 2003 aren't supported...which
I guess are called "share point extensions"? Those share point extensios are
not supported by Yahoo.

I don't know what to do? I checked with Hostmysite.com and they don't
support share point either. Any suggestions?

The remote web site dialog in FP 2003 has a check box for "FrontPage or SharePoint
services."
If you select it, FrontPage will use whatever is on the server you are publishing too.

There are no server extensions "in" FrontPage 2003. It uses the 2002 extensions. Extensions
are installed on a server.
( Or SharePoint if installed on the server )

Did you try opening the remote site in FrontPage??

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner.
Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files, the Cache(*.web) files and
Restore the Default Toolbars and Menus.

Let us know what happens.

The next time Yahoo tries to tell you they don't support 2003 extensions, tell them there
aren't any.
The latest are 2002 and they are what FrontPage 2003 uses.
If they have the 2002 extensions properly configured on the server, FrontPage 2003 will
work.

Of course they don't - there are no "Frontpage 2003 server extensions". Do
they support Frontpage 2002 server extensions?

If you really are using Sharepoint features, that is likely the problem. Not
a lot of hosts will support Sharepoint, but this is separate from the FP
server extensions.

Share point I am pretty sure are for microsoft servers only, and never seen
any use for it for webs.

Yahoo supports FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 (there are no older
extenstions nor will there ever be) If yahoo support told you there was ...
time to move to new host.

Yahoo supports FrontPage 2003

Having said that ... Yahoo is not that great a host (from numerous posts
I've seen over the years) and you have to pay more for hosting for better
support (from numerous posts I've seen over the years)

You were not using sharepoint before with them and there is no need to use
anything to do with sharepoint in FrontPage 2003.

I suggest you visit this site whose webmaster is an expert on
yahoo(geocities) hosting and it's fobiles paid or free
http://www.interglacial.org/webhelp/

I suggest moving hosts... 1and1.com ... is the host many frontpage users
seem to favour I use a reseller account elsewhere myself.
