?
.._..
I have run into an issue several times that confuses me.
After installing the FP Extensions on a new server (Win2k3 server, IIS 6,
patched FP extensions) and using a local administrator account to install
and configure the FP extensions. Logging into the specific administrator
interface (sharepoint administrator) the login fails even when presented
with the correct login.
I have 5 servers with this same problem, with varying ages and setup
personel, and patch / service pack levels.
But, using the same URL from another machine (across internet or elsewhere
on the same network) with the SAME credentials I am able to log in and
administer the site.
This is not a big deal, as the work around exists, but it would be nice to
not have to have two interfaces open all the time to do simple configuration
changes.
(This works remotely, but not locally)
http://servername/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmdll.dll?page=webadmin.htm
The only thing I can think of is I have to use the hosts file to set the IP
for the server name. (But I do that because the sites are not configured to
respond to requests using the IP address only).
Anything I can check for this strange problem?
