FP closes unexpectedly when using "save as"

I am using FrontPage 2000 with Windows XP Pro. I am trying to alter an
existing
webpage and when I use the “save as†button, the program freezes and displays
the error message: "Microsoft FrontPage application file has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
This error comes up whenever the "save as" feature is used on a old page,
or when it is attempted to save a new page with the "save" or "save as"
features. All was well until today. I have been using this FP program
without problems and have made no changes or alterations of any kind. I have
attempted to delete FP temp *web files, but none are shown. I have run a
repair of the Office 2000 Pro, nothing has helped. Any pro Help is greatly
appreciated.

I have also installed all updates for Office 2000 as well. Can "save old" as
well as new pages. Cannot use the "save as" function in any case. I am
working in .asp pages. I have been attempting a fix for many hours. Thanks
for your "detailed" help
in advance !

I use FP2000 daily under Windows XP Pro, saving either to a live/remote or local remote server, and
I have never had any problems with saving files, with the exception of CSS files, which will crash
FP2000.

The only workaround I am aware of is to upgrade your version of FrontPage.
