Hi Chris,
Thanks for your post.
According to your description, my understanding on this issue is£ºThere
was
a local instance built in FP98 and everything (forms) works fine after
publishing to server. When you open the local FP98 instance directly in
FrontPage 2003 and found the forms not working and some strange files
appearing. If I misunderstood your concern, please feel free to let me
know.
Additional to MVPs' suggestion and questions, some other information is
also necessary for us to narrow down the problem. Please allow me to
collect the following information from you. I appreciate your effort.
1- Please try opening the site in FrontPage 2003 and then republish to the
Web Server.
2- What does the exact problem you experience? Do you receive any error
message? If so, please take a screen shot of the error message and send it
to me. It is very important for us to resolve the issue more efficiently.
Thanks for your cooperation and patience.
How to take a screen shot, please follow the steps below:
------------------------------------------------------------------
1) When the screen appears, press the Print Screen key (right of F12 key)
Note: nothing will happen.
2) Open Paint ['start' => 'All Programs' => 'Accessories' => 'Paint'].
3) Click Edit (menu) -> Paste or press Ctrl + V.
4) Click File (menu) -> Save. Save it as a .jpg or .gif file and send it
to
me as an attachment.
3- The version of FrontPage Server Extensions installed with your site on
the web server.
4- What form does not work? Is it a search form or using e-mail features?
5- How did you publish the site to the web server before in FrontPage 98?
6- If the site is not too big, please add them into a zip file and send it
to me at < (e-mail address removed) >. I can check this problem in testing
environment on my side.
In the meantime, I would suggest you referring to the following article:
