This is more of a question as to why I was unable to successfully upload to a FP Ext server after attempting to upload a different site using FTP to the same server.
I'm using FP2000 and have two sites on different servers, one has FP Ext and the other site does not. On the site that does not, I made some changes to the web and clicked on Publish Web by mistake vice using FTP. FP started publishing to site with FP Ext. I know, I had warnings and my mind was somewhere else. Prior to finish publishing,I realize my mistake and stopped. The site was a total mess, the index page had borders from one site and text from the other site. I decided the only thing to do was publish the entire site and override everything. After several attempts, the index page would not change, but all others pages did. The only way I could correct the index page was to delete from the remote site and then used drag and drop and now everything is working great.
I'm curious as to why I was unable to republished the entire site using FP Publishing?
I've surely learned my lesson the hard way.
Thanks, Ken
