When I publish using Front Page 2003 I get an error Server error: Cannot open
file".filename.html.tmp" for writing I am able to publish most files
but not this second html file. Where does the .tmp extension come from?

This error usually means that your webspace is full - check this with
your host.
The file .filename.html.tmp is a temporary file that FrontPage uploads
to the servers temporary location, then moves and renames to
filename.html in the correct folder in your website. If your webspace
is full (or very nearly full) then this move operation will fail. On
Unix servers the move is accomplished by a single rename command - hence
the error message, which is also used on Windows servers.
