FP Server extension

Mike

I am trying to publish a web site from my server on the internet to my local
machine. It says that I do not have FP server extensions installed. I do have
IIS and I thought/think have the server extensions installed on my machine. I
just recently upgraded from FP 2000 to FP 2003. How can I get this to work on
my machine so I can make sure it looks and acts the way I want?

Thanks
Mike

Open IIS on your PC. Right-click on the web site and install the server
extensions if they aren't already. If they are installed try a repair on
them.

I'm really dumb at this. How do I open the IIS? I verified that it is
installed through the control panel

Thanks

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Internet Information
Server. Expand the trees under Default Web, right click on your web and
install the extensions.

If you have FP2002 extensions installed, you will find
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Microsoft SharePoint Administrator

Click Administration for your web site (Default web) then go to
administration page.
Run check server health, and check all the boxes.

If FP2000 extensions, use
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Internet Information Services to
open IIS.
Expand the folder tree in left column Right click on web site (Default
Web Site) Choose All Tasks->Check Server extensions Allow security to be
tightened.

If FP extensions are not installed, insert your Operating System CD, and
use
Control Panel->Add/Remove Software->Windows Components->Internet
Information Services
Click details
Select FP2000 server extensions (2002 extensions on Windows 2003)

If your web isn't there then you need to create it. Open FrontPage and
create a new empty web site at http://localhost/webname (localhost is your
IIS server and "webname" is whatever you want to call the site)

Another way to do this is to open your site from your web host (ex:
http://www.xyz.com) in FrontPage and then choose File, Publish Site and
publish it to http://localhost/webname This will create the web and bring
all the files down locally.

You are the man!!!!!!! That fixed my problem. The only thing left is getting
my .asp reports to work. Any suggestions on that? This is the error message I
get.

Database Results Error
The database connection named 'addlist' is undefined.

This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root

Thanks so much!!!

This fixed that problem. Now, when I try to open the database I get the error:
"Microsoft Access cannot open this file.

This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site.
Microsoft access will not open the file due to potential security problems.

To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location."

In the past with FP2000 I could double click and open the database. Is there
anyway I can still do this? Even when I try to copy the database to my hard
drive, it will only paste a shortcut and not the database.

Thanks
