FP will not start - C++ Runtime Error when loading

FP 2003 has been working fine on my PC for six months, however now
when I try running FP 2003, I get an error when it loads stating:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Apps\MSOffice\Office11\FRONTPG.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more
information.

I don't remember installing anything new that might have
caused this and I've run a virus scan to make sure that's not it.

I tried a "Detect and Repair" but that still didn't fix the problem so
I did a complete uninstall, reboot, install but I'm still getting the
same error.

Per a suggestion, I tried deleting cmdui.prf but that did not solve it
either.

Searches through google show that some people have had this problem in
earlier versions of FP when editing and/or saving a CSS, however I'm
just trying to start FP and get this. Any help would be very much
appreciated...I'm stuck!

You may need to do an Uninstall of FP and then a reinstall (w/ any AV turned off), plus get the latest Office service packs

Thanks for the reply, however as is noted in my post "I tried a
"Detect and Repair" but that still didn't fix the problem so
