FP03: Problem opening index.htm

V

Vic Dura

Hello,

I'm very new to FP2003. I have just migrated a couple of very small
web sites that I maintain into FP and all seems well except for one
site. With this site, when I double-click on index.htm nothing
happens. In order to open index.htm for editing I have to right-click
on index.htm, then select Open With.. and then select "FrontPage (open
as html).

This happens with only one of the sites that I migrated into FP. Can
anyone suggest what I might have wrong about it?

Thanks

Try naming it html, not htm.

As your're new to Frontpage why not learn HTML and CSS instead of a
dead (or dying) program? You'll get much better compliant code and
the learning curve is no worse.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.

Well, someone gave me this copy of FP and some books after they
switched to another program and had no further use for FP. This should
be fine for the few very simple web sites I've been maintaining.
Previously I was using Kompozer. FP03 is a HUGE improvement over
that.

And HTML and CSS is a huge improvement over frontpage.
