FP2000 no TEMP and Form Validation problem!

S

Stephen

Hi

I have repaired FP2000 and still I have no FrontPage Temp
folder - which means I cannot freshen up FP.

For example - my form validation is not working, the forms
are being submitted without checking if a field is valid.

(this site is live - via FP server extensions, which have been repaired
by the host).

I am hoping that this is to do with the Temp folder.

It is a long time since I searched the Temp folder,
I used to do this by *.web

Is *.web correct - this is from memory.

Thanks a lot.

Stephen

URL ?

Having a FP temp folder on your local HD, has no bearing on viewing the site in a browser and
whether or not the forms work.

*.web is correct.
Is JavaScript enabled in your browser?
Is the form filed completely enclosed within the form tags?
Have you added any custom JavaScript to the form?

*.web are actually not the FP temp files...

In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
- Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and/or %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
- also clear your IE TIF folder if you don't do so regularly

Tom, thanks for the correction, they are the web site cache files.

ROFL! I know the English term. You are definitely *not* a plonker. The
hidden files and .web files can be a booger to figure out and find.

Make it simple, download FP MVP Steve Easton's free FP Cleaner Tool (I use
it all the time)
