We've had the following Email from an able MS office and
Frontpage user in one of our Departments:
"Since doing the critical updates for office I'm
having trouble
accessing web pages for authoring using frontpage
2000. When trying
to open a page I get the message:
'An error occurred accessing your frontpage web
files. Authors
contact your web server. Webmasters please see
server system log
for more details.'
If a page does open it then refuses to save.
I've tried removing/reinstalling but this makes no
difference.
Can you recommend how best to fix this"
The critical update was to solve a problem when accessing
a Web server (we think) using FrontPage extensions. Our
server is an Apache server, without any FrontPage
enhancements. The user was using a mapped Network Drive
to his machine running MS Windows 98, FrontPage 2000 and
Office XP.
As you can see we've already suggested uninstalling
FP2000 and then reinstalling (without the critical -
without success).
Any suggetions would be appreciated.
