I have a series of private folders within my web - these contain work in
progress and original full-size scans from which smaller web-size pictures
are made. I don't want to publish this folder structure.

Is there a way of adding the Do Not Publish attribute to folders as opposed
to files? At present I have to add the attribute to each file in the folder
structure - and then remember to set it for any additional files that I add
later!

Might sound strange but...

You could make each of the folders a "child web" (look it up in the help).
Then when you publish, a checkbox is offered that asks, "Publish child webs
? and you can say no.

The byproduct of this is that each folder is now accessible as a website in
FrontPage. Each is now a "child web" of the parent.

This will work only if you don't have a ton of folders you want to prevent
from being published. You don't want to do this for like a hundred folders.
But a few dozen will be fine.
