FP2003 - Cannot View Files to Insert Hyperlink

FrontpageUser

I upgraded my Frontpage 2000 to Frontpage 2003. Unfortunately I can't seem
to insert hyperlinks on a page because the dialog box doesn't show any of
the files or folders in my web. It's as if the files are not there. How can
I fix this problem?

When I connected to the subweb that was created in FP2000 (virtual directory
on a different drive than the root web), I tried to recalculate hyperlinks
but that didn't help. I also tried to repair FP extensions and that didn't
help. I also removed the extensions and re-installed. I also used Sharepoint
to recalculate the web and I did an Office detect and repair. All of these
failed to resolve the problem.

My configuration is:
Windows XP pro
IIS 5.1
Frontpage 2002 Extensions with all updates
Frontpage 2003

You have to navigate to them .. .File | open site | where it says Look in on
the drop down arrow click that and you will see folders and files ...
navigate to the last place they were... you can look in fp02 for the path if
you can't remember it but it's usually my documents my webs etc...

When I click the drop down box the only file that appears is the one I'm
editing. No other files appear, and I can only navigate up to the top level
folder. It's as if all other files in the web didn't exist.

Can you see them via windows explorer?

were you using disk based webs before?

The answer to both of your questions is yes.

An interesting fact is that if I go to my website with Frontpage it works
just fine. They use IIS and Fp2002 extensions.

The problem is only on my local computer.

Did you by any chance have FP 2003 beta installed at any time??

No, I started with FP2003 Enterprise Edition. This is on a new Win XP Pro
computer but the subweb was placed on the hard drive by transferring files
from another computer runnin Win2000 and FP2000.

I see we didn't get an answer to this one, and I am desperate for it :)

I have recently upgraded to FP2003, and all of a sudden, the Current Folder
does not appear for websites in the Internet.

I normally edit the website I maintain by opening it directly, it is not on
my local computer.

Could someone please tell me how to add it as a Network Location so that it
appears in FrontPage's "Current Folder" list? It's a real pain when you
cannot navigate to it.

And yes, if you have a 'mo, an email copy would be much appreciated: there
are 19,000 posts to scan on this newsgroup :)

Many thanks

My configuration is:
Windows XP pro
IIS 5.1
Frontpage 2003

To add it as a Network Location, double click Network on the Desktop, click Add
Network place and enter the full url of the website.

As for the other issue it may require editing the registry and removing any data
that shows for these two values.
Close FrontPage and then run regedit and go here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage
Explorer\Settings
and remove the data that shows for FolderDetailColumns and FilesDetailColumns
by right clicking each entry, selecting modify and then clearing the data and
clicking ok.
Close regedit and reopen FrontPage.
