FP2003: Email addressing in web pages, IE

S

Stuart

FP2003. (Windows XP. Windows XP Office Professional

In my web pages, I use a link for customers to contact me via email. When I test the link in IE from my PC, the link opens to a Compose Window in my mail browser (Netscape) but my email address is not included and I must type it in manually. In Netscape 7.1 the email address is included.

What changes do I need to make in order to view and use my email address in links in IE and FP2003?

Thanks, Stuart

You have to set up your email account in Netscape.

Thank you but don't think you understand problem. I have email account set up -- for years

Problem restated: In FP2003, I create links on web page (www.lostworldsinc.com) for a customer to contact me by email

In FP2003, IE and on local host, when I myself try link, the email address does not appear in the Compose Message box. In Netscape it does appear

Consequently, something in FP2003 or Windows XP is not allowing my email address to appear and I must type it manually in. Further, in IE passwords are never stored whereas they are in Netscape 7.1. This appears related.

It's not a FrontPage issue.
You can have multiple browsers and email clients on a machine, but you can only have one
*default* browser and email client set at a time.
If Netscape is set as the default then the link will open in Netscape.
IF OE is the default then the link will open OE.
If IE is the default browser then it will store passwords.

I just clicked the link and it opened in OE with the address in the To: bar.

Steve: IE is my default browser. In FP2003 my email address will not appear in the To: line in Compose To: links per page in IE. It will appear in Netscape

The problem occurs both inside FP2003 and if I access my website through IE.

I have made IE my default browser.

Even with IE being your default browser, what email application do you have associated with it and
is the email application set as the system default?

That's because for it to work in OE on Your machine, OE has to be set as the default mail client.

Each program has it's own default setting.
