FP2003 Hangs at Startup

Just installed FP2003. When I try to run the program, it locks up and I
cannot exit. CTRL-ALT-DELETE does not work. I have to shut down and
restart. Loaded newest video driver I could find. The left side of the
display (I assume where the document is displayed is gray with an 'X' in a
small box.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this running? I have uninstalled and
reinstalled, and uninstalled Office XP.

Try closing your firewall then running it .. Norton used to make things come
to a standstill and the box to tell me it wanted to contact the net was
usually hidden ..

Didn't help. All I get is the hourglass. If I click anywhere on the screen,
the titlebar says "Not responding"

I suggest reading the home page actually.... Steve outlines what the restore
toolbars button does in fpcleaner which is as follows

"Checks for the location of the folder containing the CmdUI.PRF file, which
is the file that contains a pointer to the Toolbar and Menu settings. If
this file is corrupt, it can keep the program from opening or cause it to
open and freeze. Deleting this file forces creation a new one when either
program is reopened.
Note: You may have to reinstall addins after deleting this file."

see if that helps.
