FP2003 - pseudo folders no longer visible

All my FP sites on my local PC have folders such as _borders, _fpclass,
_themes, _overlay etc. These folders are automatically created by FP and
presumably have some internal function?

However for one site my local PC does not have these folders at all (yet the
site definitely uses themes).

Can someone please explain this and let me know if this is something I need
to somehow fix?

With that site opened:

Tools | Site Settings | Advanced...enable; show hidden folders blah blah
blah.
