FP2007 - adding forecast

C

Candace

I'm trying to add a weather forecast page to my website. I went to
"weather.com" which is hosted by "The Weather Channel" and created a profile
which supposedly generated the code needed to show a graphical representation
of my local weather. However, when I pasted the code into the FrontPage code
editor, all I get is a link to the weather channel's website. Any
suggestions? Has anyone else tried this before? Is there an alternative
vendor that is easier to implement?

Paste into Notepad first, then into your page in FP in HTML/Code View.

I tried this but the result is just a box with the words "Your local forecast
available at weather.com", where "weather.com" is a link. I'm not getting the
graphic at all. Any suggestions?

I just discovered that this works fine for my external website, but not for
my internal (intranet) website. My external/public website is hosted on a
server running Windows Server 2003, but my intranet website is hosted on a PC
with Windows XP as the operating system. Is it possible to add specific
components to the computer running the intranet so that the link shows
properly as a graphic?

Not possible unless your intranet is accessible by the public.

You will need to contact Weather.com for a version that you can run on a intranet.
