Dear All,
Please can anyone point me to a source for assistance in publishing my
website as a test to a Subweb with my exisiting ISP.
I have created a folder as /html/subweb at the URL for my existing site and
on attempting to publish there I got the message " unable to create vti_cnf
as thif file already exists"
I am usung Win XP Home +SP1 with FP98.
ISP uses 2000 server with FP Extensions
Thanks in advace

Open the live/remote site directly in FP, do you see a folder with a globe? If not then you have not
create a subweb.

There are 3 ways to create a subweb on the remote server...

1. Create a folder, then right click and select convert to web.
2. Publish from your local PC to the server as http://www.yourdomain.com/subwebname
3. Contact you host to create the subweb.

Some host do not allow users to create subwebs.

Note: I just noticed that you are working with FP98, skip item #1 and my first statement, as neither
are possible with that version of FP98.

Publish your web to the subweb and let the FP 2000 SE create the subweb
If you normally publsih to http://www.yoursitename.com/
publish to http://www.yoursitename.com/subwebname/

Thank you both for your help.
It looks as if I had better ask my ISP to create.
Thank
Teriel
