FPSE and MS licensing agreements

Thanks for any advice

I have been informed by my hosting service they will be
discontinuing FPSE on their linux servers because

" it is against our license agreement with Microsoft to
provision Linux servers with FP extensions."

Is this a furphy or does MS actually licence the FDSE

If they had FP extensions they can continue to use them or not - it's
their choice. The MS licence excuse is just that, an excuse.

Microsoft no longer supports the FrontPage extensions on any server
except Windows 2003 - but the license for using them is normally
perpetual.
