Fractions in the summary task duration

Do you have sub-tasks with durations with fractions of days? I.e., 3hrs, or
12 hrs?

No but there is some with 0 days.....if that matters

Since summary line durations are defined by the difference in working
days between the start of the earliest task under the summary to the
finish of the latest task under the summary, a lead or lag between task
relationships can give partial day durations.

You might also want to check your calendar settings under
Tools/Options/Calendar tab (task duration is defined by the Hours per
day setting). Are the resources assigned to the tasks on the standard
calendar or do some have custom calendars? To get a quick assessment you
could use the Resource Usage view to look at how the resource work hours
are distributed.

Another helpful parameter is to set the date format to include the time
(i.e. Tools/Options/View tab). Look for task start and finish times that
fall mid-day.
