Frames page question.

Martin Murray

I have created a website that has a frames page for navigation a nd a
contents page. Every page you click on on the frames side has a unique
name, obut the address bar shows the address to be "website/frames.htm" on
every page. How can I get it to show the actual page name and not the
generic frames page name?

Thanks in advance,

Martin Murray

This is one of the many sometimes unpleasant facts about using frames.
Since the frameset page is the only thing that is really loaded into the
browser, that's the only filename you will see (and it's the only page title
you will see, too).

Frames are rarely the optimal choice for layouts....

Make your navigation.htm page and then insert it as an include page on each page
of your site. You can put it at the top of each page, or make a table and put it
on the left of each page or wherever.

Then your page titles will all show up, and you wont have any of the negative
problems that crop up with frames. Ditch frames before you get too far along and
live a happier life.
