Fraudulent use of letterheads

G

Greg

Is there something that can be incorporated into or maybe something be left out of letterheaded
documents so they can be identified and not used fraudulently ? Is there something built into the
software that fixes the content (stops it being altered), if I new where to find the function ? The
documents are composed using MS Office Word up to and including Win XP versions and are distributed
via e-mail as attachments. As you know it is very easy to remove the text and be left with a clean
letterhead which can be used without control.

I know it is possible to distribute a PDF formatted copy, but this adds extra complications that
some users cannot cope with.

This is an important problem to be solved and all logical suggestions are welcome

Hi Greg,

Office 2003 has some new features for enhancing
'rights management' and for limiting what can
be edited in a document but you can print a document,
cut off the letter head and print your own on a copier
or scan the letterhead into a graphic and use it in
a document.

Word can do many things but solving ethical, malicious
or mischevious behavior of people isn't a 'feature' :)
