FREE UPGRADE

ARROWSPACE

I have purchased the Office V.X for my MAC. It's supposed to come with a free upgrade to Office 2004 when released. The form says I have to send in the Certificate of Authenticity from the original boxtop. Can I just send in a photocopy, or does it have to be cut from the actual box?

Hi Arrowspace,

You may want to also post this in the Office:Mac newsgroup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.mac.office or
via browser:
http://microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=community

The technology guarantee coupon for the upgrade
http://microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=office2004tg
does allow a copy of your sales receipt but not for the Authenticity label.
There is a phone number in that coupon document you may wish to
call to find out for sure although my guess is they'll want something
original to keep from having multiple requests come in for the upgrade :)

Might you consider the fact that Microsoft Office X for Mac and Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac are made by Microsoft, so the OP's question is completely appropriate for this microsoft.public.office.update group.

There is a Mac Office News Group and the poster might get a faster response
there.
