Freeform Shape

Is there a way to draw a straight line using the freeform shape, maybe
holding some key while moving the mouse? I am unable to draw a straight line
when using the freeform shape.

When you hold the mouse key down, your cursor is a pencil and you get a
scraggly line, release the mouse button and your cursor becomes a cross and
ill draw a straight line. Press the left button again and it's a pencil
again.
