Freeze after copy & paste

My recently installed word 2007 home & student keeps freezing after copying
and pasting the text between word file/ text. I tired rebooting it, repairing
, and reinstalling it, but nothing worked so far. I lost hours of work
because of this and now using openoffice which i am not familier with. Could
anyone suggest other trouble-shooting? Thanks
