Freeze pane problem

When I freeze the panes on my worksheet by clicking on cell A1 it
automatically freezes it right in the middle of the page. It freezes as if I
had H19 highlighted.
Why is this happening? Is there somewhere to change freeze pane options?
I must be missing something

Hi J-

When you apply the Freeze it relies on where your Active Cell (Cell
Selector) is at the time. By having it on A1 it _can't_ freeze any columns to
the left or rows above because there aren't any. Therefore it just centers
the freeze lines in the current window.

Put your selector in C5 & when you turn the feature on columns A & B will be
frozen in place and rows 1 thru 4 will be frozen in place.
