Freeze rows AND columns simultaneously

I would like to freeze the first column (A) and rows 1-5 in my Excel worksheet. I have only found answers about freezing one or the other. In the Microsoft Office 2007 for PC, you can do this. Can anyone help with this issue? Is it actually possible to do on Office 2008 for Mac?

Just like in the PC versions prior to 2007 - in your example, select cell B6
then use Window> Freeze Panes.

2007 is only different in where you fnd the feature, but the effect is the
same.
