Freeze when activating "look in" in the open box

Machine running office 2003 sp1 freezes when in word or excel when the
user tries to open a document. IT occurs when the user clicks on the
look in drop down box in the open or save box. This seems to only
affect windows 2000 machines and not XP.
Has anyone come across this problem.

Usually this is because of a bad/invalid drive mapping, a rogue FTP link or
something similar in the Folder List.

I am having the same problem with XP Pro machines and Office 2003. I have
found I can use the navigation buttons on the left of the open window, but
would like the functionality of the drop down box....Cindy

I read it but it does not apply to my situation. There is no bad
drivemapping, rogue FTP link, etc. Is it normal that when using the Look
In drop down that it can hang and freeze, but not when you use the
navigation links to include My Computer or Network Places in the open
window? Thanks...
