freezing panes in 2004

Today I received an Excel sheet as an attachment. I opened the sheet by
double clicking the Excel attachment icon.

I tried to freeze column A (select B1, point to Window > Freeze Panes)
but column A plus B were frozen. After saving the file to disk
everything was OK, I can now freeze column A only.

A known bug?

not that I know of. Please post back if you can reproduce it...

I could send you the original file.

Test 1: forward original mail plus attachment to Windows notebook. File
opens fine and I can freeze as expected.

Test 2: various zoom settings in Excel 2004. At 100% the above happens,
from 125% onwards only column A is frozen.

I use a 1280 * 1024 / 75 Hz / Millions of colors display setting.
