Freezing Panes

In Excel, one can freeze panes so that when you scroll, selected
rows/columns remain displayed. We have a project file, where the
Project Manager got carried away with detailed descriptions on task
names and refuses to allow it to be changed.
The question is, can the task name column be frozen so when you scoll
horizontally the task name remains displayed.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

Sort of.... View/Tableentry)/More tables.../Select the Entry table and
then Edit. Give it a new name, and in the Field Names column select
Name/Cut, then select ID/Paste. This will put the task name first. Make
sure that the first column is locked with the check mark. OK/Apply.
