Freezing rows on Excel Worksheet

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I want to freeze the frames on a worksheet. When I go to Windows menu, "freeze pane" text is grayed out and unavailable. I have cleared protection, print area and page breaks for the sheet -- can't figure out what else to do.

Appreciate any suggestions...thanks.

Nothing I've tried has caused this to happen here so I'm going to assume
that it's caused by either of 2 things...

First, re-launch Excel and try the feature in a different workbook. If the
command is available it suggests that the other workbook file where you had
the problem may be corrupt or damaged.

If the problem persists in *any* file it may be one of the 'random menu
glitches' so go to View> Customize Toolbars & Menus. On the Toolbars page
select the Worksheet Menu Bar by clicking on its name, then click the Reset
button. If that doesn't correct the problem post back for other suggestions.

Also, make sure you have Office fully updated - 12.1.5 is the current level.

Hi, I just got a brand new mac for the first time and the same thing happened to me, I just figured it out. You have to be on NORMAL View to be able to use the Freeze Frames.
