French (Belgium)

M

Mark T.

Hi,
I have a condition where my spell / grammer checker
wants to operate in French (Belgium), but I'd
like to check in English, US. When I try to change
it in the drop down menu, it snaps back to the
French (Belgium) option.
The curious part is it only happens in one or
two paragraphs. It will check in English in
the remainder of the page.

I'm using Office XP Professional.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

*Select* all the text that's in the wrong language, then
choose English (US) to apply the language formatting. (It's
formatting, just like changing a font color.)

Note that if this document was created on a machine where
the Windows default language is French (Belgium), then it
will have a nasty tendency to revert - especially when you
start new paragraphs at the end of the document. There's
nothing you can do to prevent that.
