french dictionary and grammar on english office version

I just purchased an english (american) version of Office X
(intalled without any problems on my mac, panther). Since I
write a lot in french, i was looking for the french spell-
and grammar checker. i downloaded on the microsoft www-page
the uptdate:
"Office X 10.1.3 Update"
where french support should be included. However, when I
run it (the installer) I get the following error message:

"The default location required for this install could not
be found. This install will be cancelled."

What is going on? Could anybody tell me how to install it
correctly?

That's not exactly it. It brings patches to allow the French proofing
tools to properly function.

"The default location required for this install could not
be found. This install will be cancelled."

What is going on? Could anybody tell me how to install it
correctly?

First makesurethat you did indeed install the French proofing tools
(from the Value Pack folder on the Office CD.

Then repair permissions on the hard drive

Then install the 10.1.2 update (you need to be in 10.1.2 before you
install 10.1.3), then then 10.1.3, 10.1.4 and finally 10.1.5 (believe
me, they're all usefull).
