French grammar "required"?????

When I use Check for Updates in Office Online, I learn that these updates
are required...
....2003 French Grammar checker
....2003 French Spelling checker

I don't speak French. I barely can communicate in English. Why are these two
French updates REQUIRED?

If Office somehow has the wrong idea about my liguistic capabilities, how do
I set it straight?

By the way, if choose Start, Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office
Tools, Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings, only US English is listed.
