French Version Import Spec Problem

I designed a database which imports a text file using an import spec. The
import spec works correctly on my PC which has a US version of Access. When
I copied the database to a PC in France, which has the French version of
access, the import spec doesn't work correctly. The problem on the French
machine is that any amounts over 999.99 are not imported. The import spec
has a tab delimited format with no text qualifier. Amount fields are defined
as a double data type.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I read very little French and
this has me stumped. Thanks in advance
